The Centre for Sustainable Energy Systems (CSES) at the Australian National University (ANU) is a leader in photovoltaics (PV) and solar thermal energy. The Centre has about 40 staff and research students. Its work covers the spectrum from basic R&D through to commercial contract research. CSES is part of the Department of Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology.

ANU's Barcelona Papers on PV Technology released ANU papers delivered at the 20th EC PV Solar Energy Conference in Barcelona in June 2005 are available for download here. Canberra Company to Commercialise the ANU Dish Technology April 2005 Canberra company Wizard Information Systems has negotiated the terms of a licence with the ANU to commercialise the Big Dish solar concentrator technology. Wizard plans to form a spinoff company together with strategic partners and work towards construction of a demonstration plant. For more details see www.wizardpower.com.au.
